The Spiking of Buckeye
On August
23, 2003 Margaret Hennessy, Patricia Hubbard-Ragetté,
Terry Messinger, Julie Archer, Kate Lambdin, Worn O-rings, Jim & Connie
Chojnaki and I, Bill Ragetté spent a beautiful summer day driving 25#
of 3" Masonry spikes and 25# of 20p nails into trees on approximately 20
acres of forest at the head of Buckeye Hollow, Lincoln County, WV 25510, USA.
Participants
were directed to scatter out over the designated area and drive 0 to 6 spikes
randomly from ground level to as high as they could reach, climb or access with
the ladder.
A
very interesting and enjoyable time was had by all. In the evening we had a
great pot luck feast talking and playing music around the bonfire. Sparks flying
up into the starry sky.
